This section is a start to a treasure chest of special places, people,
organizations and
activities that contribute to making the Creston
and Kootenay Lake Valley a special place to live or visit. Creston
Valley Insurance knows this community personally and the staff are
a great resource for information relating to it. The following is
a work in progress
Sometimes, those of us who live in the valley take
for granted what we know and therefore forget to make the information
readily available to those who are new here. I became aware of this
when a couple were travelling to Nelson told me that when they passed
through the Creston Valley they noticed the water on the flats.
They are avid kayakers and wondered how to get their kayaks onto
the water. I was surprised to realize that it wasn’t that
obvious how to get to any launch sites. This is when I became more
aware that some folks maybe missing out.
Our Visitors Information Center does a fabulous
job greeting visitors and therefore I will try and not duplicate
information that is attainable through this organization. However,
I will post handy information that may not be readily available
and would make becoming familiar with the area and lifestyle simpler.
None of the information has been officially approved by anyone or
any organization nor has it gone through safety checks. This is
local information that may interest you and you can investigate
it further to your own comfort level. If you are passing this information
on to children you need to take extra precautions for their safety.
